someday, maybe we'll all see the light and recognize the necessity and truth of the best things in life being free. perhaps we'll also be able to look past the faults of others, realizing in the process that we're all to blame for the evil in the world and that complaining about it isn't going to do any good. when that day comes, maybe we can lay down our weapons, remembering hitting another child because he took a bite of our ice cream when we were 5 years old and how our mothers, the pinnacle of all that was good in our lives, told us that there are better ways.

possibly we'll see that displaying hatred, no matter how righteous our cause, only incubates more hatred, creating a counterproductive means to an end that it itself precludes. then, perhaps, we'll begin to discuss and deliberate with the common good in mind rather than insisting on our own beliefs and their necessary correctness.

maybe we'll see that good things in life might be "worth fighting for" but that the best things are born out of peace rather than conflict.

before all of that, perhaps we'll come to the realization that nothing truly good comes to the man who is not willing to wait for it, though his waiting should not be passive.

until that day finally dawns, there will be a need for those of us who desire its advent to calmly yet persistently repeat these things into the ears of any who are present to hear.
